"My job as a designer is to work closely with my clients to understand their practical needs, uncover their aesthetic and create a unique design that reflects their family perfectly."

hi there, I'm Cori //

Surrounded by creativity from an early age, it was only natural that I’d find my path in a creative field. Growing up among artistic souls, I developed a deep appreciation for beauty, detail, and expression—qualities that would eventually shape my passion for interior design.
When it came time to choose a career, I was drawn to the one discipline that allowed me to combine aesthetics, function, and storytelling: Interior Design. In the spring of 2013, I graduated from High Point University with a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and a minor in Graphic Design. While the opportunities in the “furniture capital of the world” were endless, my heart led me back home—to the coast and close-knit community where I truly belong.
That fall, I began my career with a local homebuilder, designing custom interiors for residential clients. Over the next nine years, I had the privilege of helping hundreds of homeowners bring their visions to life—curating finishes, selecting materials, and turning houses into deeply personal sanctuaries.
When my husband and I welcomed our first child together, I chose to step back from my full-time role and embrace the season of motherhood. But I always knew I wasn’t stepping away from design; I was preparing for the next chapter. Launching Chic Surroundings, LLC felt like the natural evolution of my journey. My years of experience, paired with an intuitive sense for design and deep empathy for my clients’ needs, gave me the confidence to build something of my own.
Intuition is the compass I trust in every part of my life—and design is no exception. I believe that great design isn’t just about making a space look beautiful—it’s about creating a feeling. I know a design is right when it feels right, and I want my clients to experience that same clarity and joy with their homes.
Design takes patience, collaboration, and thoughtfulness. No two clients are the same, and no two projects should be either. Whether we’re starting from scratch or refreshing a space, I work closely with each client to ensure the result reflects their personality, lifestyle, and dreams.
My mission is simple: to create beautiful, functional spaces that feel like home—and to keep designing until we both feel that unmistakable yes in our gut.
I’d be honored to help you transform your home into a space you’ll love for years to come.
